WHAT IS FUCKUP NIGHTS?
Fuckup Nights is a global event series that shares stories of professional failure. Each month, in 300 cities and 80+ countries around the world, we convince people to get up in front of a room full of strangers and talk about their own professional fuckup. The story of the business that crashes and burns, the partnership deal that goes sour, the product that has to be recalled – we tell them all.
Fuckup Nights Seattle launched in 2016. Since then, we’ve hosted 8 events (4 per year), with speakers across industries – tech entrepreneurs, actors, designers, even a chocolatier.
WHY DO WE DO IT?
We do it because failure happens to all of us, no matter who we are or where we come from. We can aim higher if we’re not afraid of it. And we can often learn more from stories of failure than from stories of success.
We celebrate the inclusivity of failure. And we’re building a community of people who want to share & learn from each other’s experiences.
We crave authenticity. We’re creating a safe space to facilitate genuine interactions with each other – because that’s what allows us to connect and gives us meaning. And that can sometimes feel scarce.
HOW DO WE DO IT?
3-4 speakers tell their stories in 10 images: What was the project? What went wrong? What did they learn? Stories are followed by Q&A and networking, and sometimes we like to include a bit of audience participation as well. Interested in speaking? Click here.
